Utah Hiking

Probably the best way to enjoy the different landscapes of Utah is to hike through them. Utah hiking has various trails and hikes that you can’t find anywhere else.

You’ll find as you partake of the beautiful scenes that Utah’s mountains and deserts will offer you something you weren’t expecting at all.

If you are planning on visiting Utah for the first time, you may want to listen to the few tips that I have about Utah hiking. I have lived in the state now for over 10 years and have climbed various peaks around the state.

Before you pack your bags, you may want to determine the time frame that you are going. Even in early summer, there still may be plenty of snow on the mountains.

The best time to visit Utah if you are going hiking would to come between May and September. In some years, May could possibly still be a little early. However, you will find that if you are lodging anywhere, this time is the cheapest.

It is no wonder why hiking in Utah is so popular. With all the mountains and canyons, there is hiking for about every level of difficulty. There are trails for the extreme athlete and there are some for even children. It just depends on what you are going for or what you want to achieve.

One of my favorite places to hike is to the top of Snowbird Ski Resort. This resort is open year round, and there are several things to do here doing the summer months.

Mount Olympus is also a great place for hiking. There is so much beauty to behold. Not only are there peaks, but there are also rivers and hills.

Another one of my favorites is Mount Timpanogos. There is an awesome cave at the top that you can tour. It is more a difficult hike, especially for children, but it still can be accomplished. I love leaving for this hike early in the morning to get to the top by sunrise. So beautiful!

If you want a more difficult climb, you can climb the face of Mount Timpanogos, but this isn’t advised for children at all.

Utah hiking is so much fun. There are plenty of other hot spots. I just thought I’d name off some of the best ones.
